Welcome to the second edition of the Blood Window Galas at Marché du Film/Cannes Film Festival

We present the second edition of Blood Window Galas at Marché du Film of the Cannes Film Festival. This year we leave midnight to get into Olympia Theaters 4 & 5 at 18:00 hs.

From May 15th to 19th, five movies will be presented by directors and programmers of the world’s most important Fantastic Film Festivals. Stgets (Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia), Morbido in Puebla, Mexico, BIFAN (Buchen International Fantastic Film Festival) in South Korea, Fantastic Fest of Austin, Texas, and at last Frontiers, co-production market organized by Fantasia in Montreal and the Biff of Brussels.

The selection includes very varied titles that present subgenres such as thriller, terror and sci-fi. Four Latin American and one Spanish film head the selection. In chronological order:

Facundo is a lawyer and he’s having an affair with Violeta, his brother Rafa’s girlfriend. When Rafa finds Violeta dead in their apartment, Facundo has to help him get rid of the body. The night turns into a perverse game of spite, violence, revenge and death.

Plot

Anna Fritz is a very famous and beautiful actress, considered one of the most desired women in the world. Suddenly, she dies.
Pau works as an orderly at the hospital where Anna Fritz was taken to. Pau is a shy and introverted youth. Often, when the body of a young woman is brought to the morgue, he can’t resist watching her. When he enters the morgue with the corpse of Anna Fritz, he takes a picture of her naked body and sends it to his friend Ivan.
Ivan and Javi are Pau’s only friends, and go visit him at the hospital. They are a little drunk and Ivan wants to see the naked body of Anna Fritz. She is there… They can’t lose this opportunity.

In a small isolated village lives Raulo, a mentally handicaped lumberjack, with Ercilia, his senile witch doctor mother, and Roberta, his sister, the town’s young and favourite prostitute. They unconditionally love and take care of each other. But when Ercilia feels the closeness of death she insistently threatens Roberta: if she ever has sexual intercourse with all the men in town, the town will discard her, dismiss her, and she will die. And there is only one man in town she has not been with: Sicilio, the other prostitute’s husband, who is deeply in love with Roberta, but if his wife finds out he has been with her, she won’t hesitate in killing him.
